Our Story

A family table, on the beach we've always known

VASILIKOS, FOR YEARS

This beach isn't new to us

Petalida is a family-run restaurant, rooted in Vasilikos for years before Dafni Beach became known as one of Zakynthos’ last untouched shores. We didn’t choose this place because it was easy โ€” the dirt road down to the bay makes sure of that. We chose it because it’s ours: the same stretch of sand, sea, and turtle nests that our family has watched over for years, long before it had a name people searched for online.

WHAT WE COOK

Nothing on the plate by accident

Our menu follows the sea, not the other way around. Fish comes in with the day’s catch, vegetables are local and in season, and every dish is made to order in a kitchen small enough that nothing sits and waits. It’s simple, honest cooking โ€” the same way food has been made in this part of the island for generations, plated at a table looking out over the Gulf of Laganas.

DAFNI BEACH

A shore that stayed wild

Dafni is part of the Zakynthos National Marine Park, and it shows โ€” no crowds, no water sports, no noise past dusk. From May to August, Caretta Caretta turtles nest right along the sand we sit on, and everything here moves at their pace. What’s left is a rare kind of beach: fine golden sand, some of the warmest water on the island, and a view across to the islet of Pelouzo that hasn’t changed in years.
